Experience two islands in one trip in the South Funen Archipelago, Avernakø and Lyø. We take care of everything from ferry tickets and luggage transfers to accommodation and food. Here you get the chance to experience part of a UNESCO Global Geopark.

The program for your island jump

  1. Day 1

    The tour starts in Faaborg at 9:45 a.m. On Kanalvej 13, the island ferry is waiting for you, departing at 10:00. When you board the ferry you will find a clearly marked “cage” where you need to put your luggage, then the ferry staff will make sure to get it safely to Avernakø, where we will transport it up to the hotel.

  2. Lyø

    The first stop is Lyø where the ferry runs until 10:40am. On Lyø there are 4 hours to explore this beautiful island. You must bring packed lunches here, as the eateries on the island are closed outside the summer season. However, you can stay up to date on the opening hours at Café Lyø.

  3. Avernako

    The ferry departs from Lyø to Avernakø at 14:40. From Avernakø Harbour there is a trip of 1.5 km. to the hotel, where we are waiting with your luggage and a room. At 16:00 there is a welcome with coffee and cake. Maybe the energy is for an evening walk after the meal or maybe the beautiful nature of Avernakou will have to wait until day 2.

  4. Day 2

    The day starts with a breakfast buffet in the old school hall and in this connection you can grease packed lunches for lunch. On the trip there are many good and obvious places to enjoy it - for example, the madpakkehuset on Skallevejen. You leave your luggage at the hotel and then we transport it down to the ferry before departure.

  5. The trip goes home

    The ferry departs back to Faaborg at 15:10 from Avernakø Harbour. If you want a later departure (16.30 or 19.10), please send us an email in connection with your booking.

Practical information

  • Ferry ticket - Your ferry tickets will be attached to an email we will send to you before your stay. There is a barcode that the ferry staff must scan when boarding the ferry in Faaborg.
  • Your travel plans may change. Therefore, you can easily adjust the departure time of your return ferry by writing an email to us.
  • Luggage transport - When you board the ferry you will find a clearly marked “cage” where you need to put your luggage, the ferry staff will arrange to get it safely to Avernakø, where we will transport it up to the hotel.
  • It is possible to rent bicycles at Avernakø. We have three bike stations where you can borrow and drop off bicycles. Avernakø Havn, Avernakø Landhotel and Korshavn Havn. Price: 50 DKK per day.
  • Remember practical footwear and appropriate attire.
  • A water bottle and possibly a thermos bottle.
  • Physical maps of Avernakø and Lyø can be found on Ø-Færgen.
  • The eatery and bar are open all day at Avernakø Landhotel if you want a bite to eat or drink in addition to the included.
