Guided island tour to the heart of Geopark - Avernakø

Together with our local guide, you will experience our glorious island and hear exciting stories. While you take a walk on a carefully selected route (approx. 5 km.) on Avernakø with the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful countryside. Here you get the chance to experience a selected Geospot - Namely Avernakø.

Danish lunch buffet with a touch of island at Avernakø Landhotel

After the walk you can enjoy a delicious Danish lunch buffet. Taste our homemade dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients. You can enjoy your coffee in our cozy garden and experience the tranquil atmosphere or soak in the nostalgic Skolestuen.

The program of the day

• 10:00am: The ferry to Avernakø departs from Faaborg Havn, Kanalvej 13, 5600 Faaborg. The ferry trip is a unique opportunity to experience Geopark up close, as the boat trip takes you past Dyreborg, Bjørnø and is located on Lyø on the way to Avernakø. Maps and various materials of the area can be found on the ferry.
• 11:10am: Arrival and reception at the Port of Avernakø. Then follows a guided walk on the island. Along the way we experience the amazing nature of the island and the guide will tell you about both island life in 2025, the island's wildlife, the history, and of course the sights. We also visit the island's church. The walk spans approximately 5.5 km.
• 1:15pm: Enjoy a Danish lunch buffet with classic dishes such as: tartelettes, herring and eggs, apple pork, warm liver pate and cold cuts. After lunch, coffee and cookies are served, everything is homemade with a touch of island.
• 2:40: The time has come to turn back toward the harbor, where the ferry departs at 3:10 p.m.
